Music
"Music
was my refuge. I could crawl into the space between the notes
and curl my back to loneliness."
Maya Angelou
Indie Music ... is not a genre.
Well, maybe according to the companies producing it, it is. Here, it
isn't. Indie is independent. Bands produced by big companies are not
independent. No, I have no issues with those bands produced by big companies.
Many of my faves are! I only have issues with calling contracted bands
indie.
Be that as it may, Indie Musicians are making it big out there on their
own. They're doing in incredible job paving the way for the rest of
us, showing that their voices should be heard while they're doing it
their way [should I be quoting Frank Sinatra or Burger King here? hmm...].
With sites such as Myspace
and CD Baby making
advertising and self-producing more easily available, it's incredibly
easy to find musicians you love and to buy directly from them.
We are in progress and our pages
are under construction. This page will include links to Indie Musician
and music-related websites, but only those Indie Musicians who have
spent those hours improving [reference coming from Indie Authors page]
and are publishing quality work worthy of the title "Recording
Artist."
Here are a couple to start out:
